Clay Christenson - Assistant Coach

Coaching Experience:
BYU Assistant Coach 2008-present. Mountain View High School Assistant Coach 2007-08. Worked several BYU soccer camps: 2002, 2005-2007. Elite Soccer Camps: 1998-2001.

Playing Experience:
BYU Men’s Team: 2002, 2005-2008. Northern United 1997-2001 traveled to Italy to compete in an international tournament. Won U-23 National Championship in 2001 with Northern United. Jordan High School, 1999-2002. State Champions in 2002, 5A State MVP. Five-time state champion with the Utah Ranger club from 1996-2002.

Favorite Soccer Teams:
US Men’s National Team and Brasil.

Most Memorable Soccer Experiences:
Traveling to Europe with Northern United to play against the U-21 Italian National Team, Juventis Reserves, and FC Barcelona Reserves. Beating the FIJI National Team in 2007 in Provo. Traveling around the country in a van with my family competing in tournaments. International travel with the BYU Men’s Soccer Team.

Coaching Philosophy:
The only thing you have control over is your effort on the field.

Favorite Food:
Steak and Cheeseburgers.

Special Interests:
Baby Ellie Christenson and hanging out with my beautiful wife Kim. Golf, Nintendo, and Rocky IV.
