PROVO, Utah (Dec. 1, 2009) -- Brigham Young University will host some the best youth soccer players in Utah starting December 5 in training sessions run by the Utah Olympic Development Program. The sessions will run from December-February on Saturday's in the Indoor Practice Facility.

"It's great to have the ODP and players down here," said BYU head coach, Chris Watkins. "We love to have everyone on campus to see our facilities and to see what BYU is all about. These are the top players in the state and having them experience BYU whether they are 13-years-old or 18-years-old is important to the development of both our men and women's programs."

Olympic Development Program December training sessions schedule:

Saturday, Dec. 5, 4-7 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 12, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 19, 6-9 p.m.

Most training sessions in January and February will occur on Saturday's from 8-11 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.

U.S. Youth Soccer’s ODP is a national program that has been in existence since 1977 and is considered the finest soccer program in the country. ODP is designed to identify and develop talented youth soccer players throughout the country to represent their state association, region, and the United States in soccer competition. ODP is offered as a compliment to club programs as an additional resource for player development as they prepare for state, regional, national, and international competitions.

Utah ODP represents the highest level of youth soccer offered in the state of Utah and is available to all [age specific] youth soccer players registered with Utah Youth Soccer.
